Authorities said that one man was stabbed and another taken into custody Sunday in connection with an argument outside a church in Encanto.

The men were arguing around 9:10 a.m. in the parking lot of the Encanto Southern Baptist Church at 6020 Akins Ave., Sgt. Art Campa said.

One man pulled out a shank and stabbed the other in the neck, causing a 2-inch wound that was not life-threatening, Campa said.

The suspect, David Burgos, 56, whose home town was not immediately available, ran off but was caught by police nearby, the sergeant said.
