A man accused of throwing a USC student off the hood of his car, after a deadly hit-and-run, says it was an accident.

Thirty-two-year-old Josue Luna said he and his wife didn't know what to do so they panicked and took off. Luna was arrested Friday in San Ysidro while crossing into the U.S. from Mexico. He was later released on $50,000 bail.

His wife, 30-year-old Claudia Cabrera was driving the car and remains in jail. Police say she ran a red light, killing Adrianna Bachman and critically injuring Marcus Garfinkle.
