SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A motorist suspected of drunken driving crashed into an electric sign board on Interstate 805 Friday morning and was transported to a hospital, authorities said.

The crash occurred on southbound I-805 just south of Mesa College Drive at 4:09 a.m., a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said, adding that the driver was transported to Sharp Coronado Hospital.

The CHP closed the southbound No. 1 and No. 2 lanes of I-805 for about a half-hour and re-opened them by 5:15 a.m., after the wreckage was cleared away, the dispatcher said.
