SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Teachers are demanding action, and rallying after an impasse in contract negotiations with the San Diego Unified School District.

Contract negotiations have been underway since May 2014, just before the last contract expired June 30. The key issues include better pay and smaller class sizes.

Hundreds of educators, parents and supporters went to district headquarters for the demonstration and that's where CBS News 8's Richard Allyn reports in the above video story, as the push to reach an agreement gets hammered out.
