SAN DIEGO (AP) - Mexican authorities say a 17-year-old Tijuana boy has confessed to killing a San Diego professor in what they describe as a crime of passion.

The Baja California Attorney General's Office says the youth was arrested Tuesday in connection with the stabbing death of 45-year-old Henry Abalayan Acejo.

Acejo's body was found Dec. 19 at his apartment, across the border from San Diego.

Mexican authorities say the youth admitted the two had a relationship and he stabbed Acejo after the professor kicked him during an argument at the apartment.

Acejo was from the Philippines and taught Filipino language and English as a second language classes at Southwestern College and San Diego State University. He also taught ESL at Mid-City Community College in San Diego.
