Time Warner Cable hosted the award luncheon at the Hyatt in La Jolla.
The winning mothers were nominated by their children who had to write essays explaining why their mom was one of San Diego's 50 best. More than 3,000 essays were submitted this year. Each of San Diego's 50 best moms has an amazing story to share.
"We have a mom that has a brain tumor. We have a mom that has cerebral palsy. We have moms who have just overcome diversity and emigrated here from other countries and are just spectacular mothers," said Tiffany Lynch, Community Relations Manager of Time Warner Cable.
The moms took home a bag full of goodies and three deserving students won Sony Vaio computers for writing the best essays.
