A shooting outside a bar in the Morena district left two people wounded.

Two men in their 20s were outside of the Brick by Brick nightclub on Buenos Avenue, near the University of San Diego, when they got into an altercation with two other male suspects around 11:45 p.m. Friday, said San Diego police Sgt. Rich Nemetz.

Words were exchanged and one suspect took out a handgun and shot both victims, Nemetz said.

The suspects then fled the scene, possibly in a Cadillac Escalade, he said.

Arriving officers found a man with an arm wound and some shells in an alley east of Brick by Brick bar, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. He was taken to a hospital.

Shortly after midnight, two women dropped off at a hospital a wounded man believed to have been shot at the same location.

Gang detectives are investigating the shooting.
