SAN DIEGO — A stretch of Carmel Mountain Road near Vista Sorrento Parkway in the Carmel Valley area was closed Wednesday morning due to a water leak, according to San Diego police.
Police asked drivers to use caution if in the area as maintenance crews worked in the area. Around 10:45 a.m. a Sig Alert was issued and traffic was down to one lane.
A representative with the city of San Diego said via email that a 16-inch diameter water main broke causing San Diego Public Utilities Department crews to shut down the main while they worked on repairs.
According to water officials no one was without water. But they said the intersection would likely be closed until Thursday morning as crews continue repairs.
