The San Diego Chargers made a trade and got their man. No, not Marcus Mariota and no, they didn't trade Philip Rivers.

Instead, the Bolts traded their #17 overall pick and their 4th round pick this year along with a 5th rounder next year to San Francisco. In exchange they landed the #15 overall NFL draft pick and selected RB Melvin Gordon out of Wisconsin.

It's always a risk to take a running back in the early rounds based on durability and longevity, but Gordon can make an immediate impact.

This pick does two things right away: it gives the Chargers a power running attack and it takes a lot of pressure off of Philip Rivers.
