SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Baseball games at Petco Park should be a little more exciting this year.

The Padres are putting the finishing touches on moving in the outfield fence. The field was notoriously large, and some fans complained it was too big.

A shorter fence should mean more homeruns and more scoring.

Also, the height of the fence is expected to be lower, which means an outfielder could rob prospective home runs.

The Padres home opener at Petco Park is Tuesday, April 9 against the Dodgers.
