Western Washington Forecast

Sunny and mild last day of the month with more sun and 70s ahead to start October and into next week. Smoke haze also returns for the weekend.

Another sunny and pleasant afternoon with highs reaching near 70 degrees, with north winds at 5 to 15 mph. Clear and mild Friday night with lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

High pressure is slowly gaining more control over the region Friday, leading to clearer skies and near to slightly above average temperatures.

As the high strengthens and settles in over the state for the weekend, we will be seeing lots of sunshine and temperatures peaking out in the 70s to low 80s over the first weekend of October.

Unfortunately, the warm weather will be accompanied by a shift to offshore winds, which may bring wildfire smoke back into western Washington over the weekend and to start next week. At this point, it only looks like the air quality will drop to moderate in some places.

The high pressure will gradually weaken during the week next week, but right now it looks like we will continue to see sunshine with highs staying in the upper 60s and low 70s. Normal highs right now are in the upper 60s. Pretty good start to October.
