Making prom dreams come true

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - This prom season make a girl's dream come true! Join My Sister's Closet, as San Diego's favorite designer consignment shop teams up with The Princess Project to deliver trendy, haute dresses to young women this prom season.

You can help by donating or consigning a gently worn prom dress at either the San Diego or Encinitas location of My Sister's Closet. Volunteers at My Sister Closet will be collecting prom dresses and accessories to be worn by local high school teens. The gowns, cocktail, or party dresses donated should be up-to-date with the current style, and in excellent condition.

My Sister's Closet and the Princess Project are looking for dresses of all lengths, sizes, fabrics, and colors to make any young woman feel confident and beautiful for a night to remember.

"Every woman remembers her high school prom and even those ladies who could not afford to go," said Tess Loo, sister and head stylist for My Sister's Closet. "This is another way we can give back and make sure our young women are able to go to Prom and have a night they will always remember."

The Princess Project in San Diego annually supports low-income families by lessening the stress to find and afford the prom dress of their princess' dreams. Through volunteers, donors, and community support, they are able to provide smiles and confidence.

Prom season 2014 marks the 10th annual dream dress donation for the Princess Project. With help from My Sister's Closet and volunteers throughout the community, this year's donation to young princesses will provide a sense of confidence, beauty and royalty.
