CARLSBAD (CBS) - The Legoland Californian Resort kicks off the Fourth of July weekend with the unveiling of a new Lego model.

Legoland constructed the One World Trade Center to honor New York's real life version. The New York monument happens to be the tallest building in the United States. The landmark is 1,776 feet tall, which symbolically represents the signing date of the Declaration of Independence.

Therefore, Legoland created the One World Trade Center to be the country's tallest Lego model standing at 26 feet high and consisting of 250,000 Legos. Eight master model builders spent 1,200 hours to construct the Lego building.

Thursday's unveiling also honors Independence Day and the park's annual Red, White and BOOM!

Legoland celebrates the Fourth of July with a day filled of family-fun activities and a spectacular firework show all included in the park's admission. You don't want to miss this big celebration!
