As a survivor of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, Clinical Psychologist Dr. Shiva Ghaed offers universal insights and advice in her new book, "Route 91: Healing from Mass Violence and Trauma," as a practitioner specialized in the treatment of PTSD, trauma and anxiety disorders.

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 26, 2018 On Oct. 1, 2018, the one-year anniversary of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history to date, Dr. Shiva Ghaed is offering her book "Route 91: Healing from Mass Violence and Trauma" as a free download on her new platform, Love Expands.

Dr. Shiva Ghaed (affectionately known to her patients as "Dr. G") is a clinical psychologist specialized in the treatment of PTSD, trauma and anxiety disorders. She is also a survivor of the Las Vegas massacre, and this has enabled her to have a deeper understanding of the process of recovery from mass violence. Her first-hand account of this event, as well as lessons learned over the past year witnessing the recovery of the Route 91 survivor community, inspired her to write a book to reach a wider audience.

"Surviving that night was only the first of many ways in which I would subsequently be tested in the months to follow," Dr. Ghaed said. "I was challenged as a clinical psychologist who is specialized in trauma, as a healthcare provider dedicated to caring for hundreds of military patients every week, as a contributing member of society, as a citizen of this country, and as a decent human being."

Dr. Ghaed's book, like her work as a therapist, is easily applicable to a general audience who may be suffering from depression, anxiety, or other types of trauma. Her personal story of recovery, as well as her insight about how victims of such tragedies can heal, offer universal truths and guidance applicable to anyone in search of greater happiness and growth beyond trauma.

In addition to her ongoing service to the Route 91 community and writing this book, Dr. Ghaed teamed up with her longtime friend and entrepreneur Saïd Amin to create the site Love Expands as a place for community, positivity and inspiration. This new platform, which will draw on expertise of many professionals in diverse areas of health and wellness, will serve as a source of empowerment for those seeking inspiration, relationship advice, and tips and techniques to grow, heal, and enhance their lives. Amin previously founded World Singles Networks, a dating company with a portfolio of premium niche brands designed for singles seeking serious relationships. These brands include Eligible Greeks, Iranian Personals, Albanian Personals, Jamaican Dating, Arab Lounge, Hye Singles (Armenian), and Ethiopian Personals.

"Love Expands is a safe space where people can share their energy for the greater good and are empowered to be their happiest and most powerful self," Amin says. "We envision an online community where people can find meaning-a place where you can receive relationship advice as well as learn about ways to create change, happiness, letting go, meaning and ideas for how to volunteer and become more active in your community."
