Firefighters have halted the spread of the Park Fire off Park and Sunnyhill drives in Carlsbad, according to Carlsbad Police Department.
The flames, which forced evacuations of homes along various streets in the area, blackened about 1 1/2 acres, authorities say. It's not immediately clear if the blaze caused any structural damage or injuries.
Cal Fire is continuing to mop up the surrounding area, police said.
