Police release photo of fake gun used in Mira Mesa officer-involved shooting

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego Police Department has released a photo of a replica gun that led to an officer-involved shooting in Mira Mesa.

Police say the fake handgun was drawn by 22-year-old Robert McBride to threaten Sgt. Robert Willis early Wednesday morning. It happened in a mall parking lot on Camino Ruiz and Mira Mesa Boulevard.

Sergeant Willis shot McBride once in the chest. The suspect is expected to be OK, and will be booked into county jail upon his hospital release.
