CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - In Chula Vista, a special fundraiser was held Sunday in memory of a mother and her two children who were murdered at the hands of the woman's estranged boyfriend.
A portion of Sunday's sales at the Chili's restaurant in Otay Ranch will be donated to the Alvarez family funeral fund.
On Wednesday, 41-year old Catherine Alvarez, her 12-year old daughter, angelica, and 11-year old son, Hamid, were found dead in their Eastlake home.
Police say Cathrine's estranged boyfriend committed the murders and then killed himself by jumping off a Spring Valley freeway bridge.
