SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Safety tests will begin Sunday for the new San Diego "Quiet Zone" project in downtown.
Advanced safety features such as gates, signals and fencing have been installed at more than a dozen rail crossings to reduce the amount of noise coming from trains blasting their horns as they make their way through downtown.
The tests will determine if the safety equipment works.
