New search warrant seeks to "unmask" identity of Geezer Bandit

Posted: Updated:

LOS ANGELES (CBS 8) - Morro Bay police are serving search warrants in an attempt to track down the Geezer Bandit bank robber, using the old man mask he may be wearing.

Officers have served at least three search warrants seeking information on people who may have purchased "elder man" masks from a Los Angeles company called SPFX Mask.

It's the same company News 8 profiled because the masks they make look very similar to the Geezer Bandit.

According to one search warrant, bank tellers told officers the Geezer Bandit was wearing an old man mask and flesh-colored gloves.

The warrants seek two years of online purchase records from the mask company.

At least 16 banks have been hit since 2009 in the Geezer Bandit series.
