UPDATE: Woman dies after Mission Beach crash

A 35-year-old woman suffered serious head injuries Saturday morning when the car in which she was a passenger struck several parked cars in Mission Beach, police said.

MISSION BEACH (CNS) - A 35-year-old woman has died from injuries suffered as a back seat passenger in a BMW that struck several parked cars in Mission Beach, coroners said Sunday.

Shiden Golshani Jabdan of San Diego was found unresponsive and taken to UCSD Medical Center following the crash just before 3 a.m. Saturday, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner's Office. Her condition declined and she was declared dead about 12 hours later, authorities said.

Few details are available on the crash, which happened on West Mission Bay Drive near the Bahia Hotel.

The 35-year-old woman at the driver's wheel, and a 19-year-old woman who was riding in front, were also hospitalized after the crash, according to San Diego police.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 35-year-old woman suffered serious head injuries Saturday morning when the car in which she was a passenger struck several parked cars in Mission Beach, police said.

The 35-year-old woman driving the BMW, which was traveling westbound in the 900 block of West Mission Bay Drive around 2:48 a.m. when it veered to the right and struck the parked cars, complained of neck pain following the crash, said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

A 19-year-old woman who had been in the front passenger seat complained of chest pain, he said.

All three were taken to a hospital for treatment, Stafford said.

The San Diego Police Department Traffic Division is investigating, he said.
