11 rescued from disabled boat adrift at sea

The U.S. Coast Guard is working on rescuing a stranded boat off the San Diego coast Tuesday morning.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Eleven people were rescued Tuesday morning from a disabled boat off the coast of Point Loma.

Coast Guards reportedly received a distress call from a Spanish-speaking woman, who said she was on a small boat with 10 other people.

She told authorities the boat had lost engine power on it's way from Mexico, and was drifting further from shore.

Border Patrol agents eventually found the group.

Eight men and three women on board were taken into custody.

No one was hurt.
