SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An argument involving several people in Logan Heights Saturday led to a shooting that left a man dead in an alley.

A 911 caller around 12:20 p.m. Saturday reported hearing gunshots and seeing a man down in the south alley of the 2100 block of Ocean View Boulevard, San Diego police Lt. Paul Rorrison said.

Responding officers found a man in his 30s lying in the alley with gunshot wounds to his upper torso, Rorrison said. He was taken to UCSD Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police knew the name of the victim but would not release his name until the man's family was notified, Rorrison said.

Witnesses told police they heard several people arguing before hearing multiple gunshots, Rorrison said. The suspect in the killing is described as a Latino man wearing a white T-shirt.

The San Diego Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating, and anyone with information related to the killing was asked to contact that unit or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
