Sentencing for ex-SDG&E employee in deadly hit-and-run

Sentencing is scheduled Monday for a former SDGE employee involved in a deadly hit and run.
SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A former SDG&E employee involved in a deadly hit-and-run was sentenced Monday to 180 days of house arrest and 20 days of public work service.

A judge also placed 56-year-old Hector Hoyt, who pleaded guilty to felony hit-and-run in the death of Robert Fisher, on probation for three years.

Hoyt struck Fisher in the 100 block of Jamacha Road in El Cajon last January. Hoyt struck Fisher while driving a work truck. Fisher was then struck a second time by another vehicle. That second motorist stopped and called authorities.

According to a prosecutor, Hoyt didn't cause the accident, but he left the scene and tried to cover up evidence. At the time he was struck, Fisher was crossing mid-block.
