SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - What once was a dirt lot in Mountain View is now a healthy growing garden, and it's feeding community spirit as well as mouths.
It's called Ocean View Growing Grounds, and it's part of UC San Diego's Global Food Intiative.
On Thursday, UC President Janet Napolitano toured the facility.
The research project establishes community gardens and helps residents understand the importance of growing nutritious fruits and vegetables.
