EL CAJON (CBS 8) - The makers of the video game Minecraft are in San Diego.
They're visiting Emerald Middle School, one of a growing number of schools using the wildly popular online game in lessons.
About 120 students from 4th to 8th grade are getting the visit and class of their dreams. The creators of the world's most popular video game Minecraft are at the campus to see how the Cajon Valley Union School District uses Minecraft to help students learn.
The extraordinary visit comes as a growing number of schools around the world are using Minecraft as a digital learning tool. The Cajon Valley Union School District is helping lead the way, thanks in part to its partnership with the University of San Diego's Mobile Technology Learning Center.
Educators say this video game created by Mojan, the Swedish company that makes Minecraft, is a great way to teach kids about coding, math, language arts and creativity.
