SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A police chase on Southbound I-5 came to a stop at Carmel Valley road early Saturday morning.
The CHP says it began when the driver refused to stop for an equipment violation.
It ended 30 minutes later when the driver drove over two spike strips, flattening three of his tires.
Investigators say at one point during the chase, the driver had called 9-1-1 saying he was a veteran and was suicidal.
