SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A one-of-a-kind rowing shell that is longer than a blue whale raced into San Diego.
The Stampfli Express is touring across America for the first time.
It's powered by 24-rowers and rests in the water at a record-breaking 926-pounds and more than 144-feet-long.
The trip is in honor of Joan Van Blom who passed away earlier this year and was the first U.S. woman to win an Olympic medal in the single sculls.
