Vets graduate from unique rehabilitation program

Nine people graduated from a unique program Friday that allows Military veterans clean-up their record after being convicted of a crime.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Nine people graduated from a unique program Friday that allows Military veterans clean-up their record after being convicted of a crime. 

The Veterans Court Program takes active duty Military or veterans who have been convicted of crimes and puts them on a separate track toward treatment and rehabilitation. 

Some of the offenses include domestic violence, DUI and property and drug crimes. 

The program lasts between 18 and 36 months. After graduating, veterans are able to legally request that their criminal record be cleaned up.
