Copter One called to help put out National City fire

Firefighters knocked down a brush fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in National City.

SAN DIEGO (CBS8) - Firefighters knocked down a brush fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in National City. 

The fire was located in the 2200 block of Rachael Avenue. Fire crews first responded to reports of a structure fire. However, when they arrived, they found brush adjacent to the house burning. 

Copter One was called in to do several water drops which helped extinguish the flames. 

Immediate evacuations were ordered for homes in close vicinity to the flames. There has been now word on what caused the fire.
