Four teenagers arrested in vandalism spree

Four teenage suspects are sitting in juvenile hall Tuesday in connection with last weeks vandalism spree at Warner Springs High School.

SAN DIEGO (CBS8) - Four teenage suspects are sitting in juvenile hall Tuesday in connection with last week's vandalism spree at Warner Springs High School.

According to the San Diego Sheriff's Department, a school resource deputy assigned to the school, as well as other sheriff's deputies, arrested four juveniles on Monday who are believed to be responsible for the vandalism. Three boys and one girl, all between the ages of 16 and 17, were booked into juvenile hall on felony vandalism charges.

Last Tuesday, an overnight vandalism spree forced a temporary closure of the campus and adjacent school facilities. A maintenance employee arriving for work at around 5 a.m. discovered the extensive destruction and defacement, which included graffiti, broken windows, hurled furniture and discharged fire extinguishers. 

The vandalism was extensive enough to require a full day closure of the entire campus. Repairs and restoration costs are estimate at more than $40,000.
