SAN DIEGO (CBS8)- Mayor Kevin Faulconer joined police chiefs from around San Diego County in urging voters to vote "no" on Proposition 57.
The statewide ballot measure would make non-violent offenders eligible for parole and early release. Mayor Faulconer argues that the measure is misleading and would result in thousands of violent and dangerous criminals being let back on the streets.
Supporters of Prop. 57, including Gov. Jerry Brown, say it will save taxpayers by reducing overcrowding in state prisons.
