Eat local and celebrate Farm to Fork week in San Diego

Eat local and support local! Farm to Fork week is in full swing in San Diego through September 16th.

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Eat local and support local! Farm to Fork week is in full swing in San Diego through September 16th.

This week is a fantastic opportunity to support local chefs and restaurants who are supporting local farmers and fishermen. Sixteen different restaurants will have special dishes, special menus and special events that highlight the farmers and fishermen with whom they have regular buying relationships.

If going out isn’t your thing then you can still get in on the fun by planting a winter garden to feed you and your family. Right now is a perfect time to start planting items such as kale, cauliflower, broccoli, radishes, lettuce and snap peas.

Trish Watlington, founder of Farm to Fork San Diego and Darrell Campbell from Master’s Kitchen and Cocktail joined Morning Extra to talk about all the amazing things going on during Farm to Fork week.
