Woman shot and killed in Fallbrook identified, suspect identified

The woman shot and killed early Thursday morning in Fallbrook was identified as 20-year-old Yesneia Becerril, according to authorities.

FALLBROOK (NEWS 8) - The woman shot and killed early Thursday morning in Fallbrook was identified as 20-year-old Yesneia Becerril, according to authorities.

Dispatchers received reports at about 1 a.m. of a shooting in the 1100 block of South Vine Street, San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Rich Williams said.

Deputies that responded to the area found Becerril with severe injuries to her upper body. She was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The nature of her injures were not disclosed, but the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of Becerril's death.

The suspect in Yesneia Becerril's murder has been identified as 27-year-old Oscar Rodas of Fallbrook. The suspect and victim had a prior dating relationship. 

Investigators executed a search warrant at Rodas' Fallbrook residence Thursday in the 400 block of Ammunition Road, but he was not found and remains at large.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

Rodas is a Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is described as approximately 5'6" tall, weighing 150 pounds, with a "FVL" tattoo on his neck. A photo of the suspect is included on page two of this release.
