SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A wrong-way driver suspected of being drunk crashed head-on into a Harley-Davidson on Interstate 15 Saturday, killing the rider.

The fatal collision in northbound lanes, south of Via Rancho Parkway, about 12:35 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

"Brian Webb of Murrieta was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 when he entered northbound I-15 the wrong way from the northbound Del Lago offramp," CHP Officer Jim Bettencourt stated.

About the same time " just south of Via Rancho Parkway, a 60-year-old male from Escondido was riding his 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound in the same lane," Bettencourt stated.

In Webb's truck were open containers of alcohol, Bettencourt said.

Webb was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and could face vehicular homicide charge.
