Former Chargers lineman/artist Ed White

JULIAN (CBS 8) - Ed White is the former Chargers lineman who enjoyed a 17 year career in the NFL. He played nine years with the Minnesota Vikings before playing with the Chargers from 1978 - 1985.

He is in the Chargers Hall of Fame, the College Football Hall of Fame for his play at Cal and the football field at Indio High School is named Ed White Stadium in honor of Ed.

Ed White is also an artist. John Howard of News 8 Sports recently visited Big Ed's art studio in Julian and files this video report.

His works are on display in an art gallery in Julian and at the bakery in Julian. Click here for more information.

    New ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro told reporters Friday that the network does not plan to televise the national anthem as part of its Monday Night Football broadcasts this season.
