SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A first-of-a-kind therapy dog is here in San Diego. The 12-week-old puppy is being trained to help children with autism.

Drake took her first steps Monday on a long journey towards improving the lives of kids. There are big plans for Drake, who will follow in her big brother's paw prints, helping children with autism.

Laura Sylvester is the co-founder of Good Dog and knows the difference a dog can make. What makes Drake different is, she will be able to touch more than just one child.

Working with Good Dog is the Drake Center, which will own Drake and provide life time vet care.

Dr. Drake, her staff and Good Dog will be looking to place Drake with the right autism service provider, since she will make such a difference. By working in a classroom setting, Drake will have the ability to comfort many and impact the lives of children.
