SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Despite witnesses saying it didn't appear Hannah was being held against her will Friday, her best friend tells News 8 there's no way the 16-year-old would go willingly with James DiMaggio.
Hannah Darby has been best friends with Hannah Anderson since they met at El Capitan High School during their freshman year.
She says she believes Anderson knows exactly what she's doing with DiMaggio.
"I think she's just trying to obey him to try and keep herself alive," she said. "It makes me happy to know that he is keeping her alive."
Hannah Darby also says her best friend is not romantically involved with DiMaggio.
