SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A man is dead after being hit by several vehicles on a freeway in Hillcrest.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on southbound SR 163 just south of Interstate 8.
The California Highway Patrol says the victim is a white male in his early 40s and may have been a transient. He was wearing dark clothing as he tried to run across the freeway and was hit and run over by at least two cars.
Officers are still investigating, but say none of the drivers were at fault and don't anticipate filing any charges.
