Those who have to work on Thanksgiving Day

While most people spend Thanksgiving enjoying a meal with family, taking a nap or watching some football, others have to work.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - While most people spend Thanksgiving enjoying a meal with family, taking a nap or watching some football, others have to work.

For some employees, this is one the busiest days of the year.

At Boston Market in Clairemont customers began lining up before 8 a.m., Thursday.

Antonio Leandro is Boston Market’s general manager and he has been serving meals to families for the last 20-years. “Making people happy, that is what I like,” he said.

Leandro and his team began preparing for the crowds three days ago. Some on his team have more than a decade of experience working on Thanksgiving Day.

“We keep smiling. Keep a smile on your face and make people happy,” said Leandro.

For customers, it is a way it’s a way of still having the traditional fixings without doing the cooking themselves.

Boston Market sold out of per-orders more than a week ago.

Leandro said he has not seen much of his family this week, but after a long day on Thursday, he plans to go home and have a nice meal with them.

While the Clairemont Boston Market was all about the families, the location in Carlsbad was closed Thursday to serve 1,400 members of the armed forces station at Camp Pendleton.
