SAN DIEGO — Jenny Day is a Multi-Platform Journalist for CBS 8 in San Diego, California.
I was born and raised in La Mesa. I went to Grossmont High School and am also a proud SDSU Aztec! And now, I feel so grateful to be telling stories in my hometown.
My award-winning journalism career started in Northern Minnesota, in a tiny, frigid, but charming town, called Bemidji. I then moved to Burlington, Vermont where I continued to anchor and report the news. My career then brought me back to San Diego to report, anchor and produce for the CW6 San Diego. I then accepted a full-time anchor position in Yuma, Arizona where I also had the opportunity to be Assistant News Director. CBS 8 is now a dream come true. San Diego is truly America's finest!
I have covered the border extensively, extreme weather and high-profile crime.
You can find me on the CW at 10pm and CBS 8 at 11pm. I also host a show called Around San Diego that can be seen on our digital platforms weekly. I highlight our top stories and look ahead at what's to come.
In my free time, I love to hike in the mountains or at the beach. Family and travel are incredibly important as well. My most recent trips include Egypt, South Africa and Mexico! I am passionate about health and the environment and also love to check out new local restaurants and wineries. It's all about balance!
