SAN DIEGO — Rocio de la Fe is a general assignment reporter for CBS 8 in San Diego, California.

Rocio de la Fe joined the CBS 8 news team from Beaumont, Texas. Rocio is thrilled to call Southern California home and covering your stories.

Rocio was born in Cuba, but her family settled in Houston, Texas, where she was raised. She earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Houston. Before graduating, Rocio landed an anchor position at NTV Houston, a digital news station in Houston. She anchored the station’s evening newscasts. There, Rocio covered presidential campaigns and a deadly shooting of a Houston Police officer.

In 2020, Rocio moved to Beaumont, Texas, where she reported for the weekday evening newscasts and anchored the weekend evening shows at KFDM6-FOX4. During her time there, Rocio anchored and reported wall-to-wall coverage during Hurricane Laura, faced off in a one-to-one interview with the governor of Texas, and dug deep to find solutions for people.

Rocio now calls San Diego home, and she couldn’t be happier. She enjoys traveling the world, exploring her new city, and getting outdoors. She loves live music, enjoys the company of her family and friends and is excited to build her family in San Diego. She has two dogs named Rocky and Nico, and one cat named Axel.

She hopes to build the trust of viewers one story at a time.
