KAABOO 3-day festival continues in Del Mar

The highly-anticipated KAABOO festival begins a three-day run at Del Mar Fairgrounds Friday afternoon.

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - The highly-anticipated KAABOO festival began its three-day run at Del Mar Fairgrounds Friday afternoon and continued through the weekend.

It's billed as San Diego's largest music, comedy, culinary and art festival and for the first time in its four-year history, it's sold out!

The first day's acts included the Foo Fighters, rapper Post Malone, Halsey, Incubus, Blondie and comedian Craig Ferguson.

Some notable acts on day 2 included Melissa Etheridge, Imagine Dragons and Earth, Wind and Fire.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department released the following statement with a few safety tips for concertgoers heading out to the big event this weekend.

"Please do not park in neighborhoods adjacent to the venue. KAABOO's website has information on parking, ridesharing, coach bus service, public transportation, and shuttle service. The Sheriff's Department would also like to remind concertgoers not to drink and drive. Sheriff's Deputies, as well as California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officers, will be patrolling the area looking for impaired drivers. If you see anything suspicious, say something. Report it to a nearby security guard or a deputy on the fairgrounds. In case of an emergency, call 9-1-1."

The KAABOO Music event continues at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Sunday, Sept. 16. Expect heavy traffic and delays in the area.

For more information on how you can stay safe at the music event, as well as a list of what you can and cannot bring to the fairgrounds, visit KAABOO's website.
