<(WBIR- Knoxville) Some of the rescuers who respond to the critical and sometimes fatal crashes are now cemented in history for their service.Wednesday, officials dedicated the Lifestar helicopter hangar to Norman Majors and named the Lifestar building after Dr. Rober Lash, the man who founded the Air Medical Service.Surrounded by friends and family, Majors humbly accepted the honor and looked to the skies during a fly-over that paid tribute to Majors' 30 years of service."I was a young assistant administrator in the hospital who went along with Dr. Lash, and so after Dr. Lash's passing, the program has reported to me since that time, and as I have said, we have grown to five helicopters, four locations in the region, and one here. So our role has been to nurture what he developed and build upon it," said Majors.Lifestar was founded in 1984.<
