SANTEE, Calif. — Firefighters successfully extinguished a fire in Santee that sent a visible cloud of black smoke into the air.
Fire crews battled the fire located at the East County Advanced Water Purification project located at 12001 Fanita Parkway.
The fire was reported just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
City of Santee officials said the fire was put out by fire crews, and first responders would remain at the site to investigate.
