PINE VALLEY (CNS) - Two weekend earthquakes rattled the Laguna Mountains in East County, including a magnitude 3.6 temblor early Sunday, but no damage was reported, authorities said.

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the strongest quake at 1:41 a.m. Sunday, 1.1 miles below ground, with its epicenter 15 miles east-northeast of Pine Valley, 28 miles east of Alpine and 29 miles east-southeast of the San Diego Country Estates near Ramona.

Residents in Pine Valley, Ramona, Jamul and northern San Diego reported weak shaking from that quake to the USGS, but no damage.

A magnitude 3.3 quake struck in about the same area shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the USGS. No shaking or damage from that earthquake was reported to the agency.
