Plan Your Spring Getaway to Paso Robles

Explore the Beauty, Culture & Cuisine of Wine Country. Sponsored by Travel Paso

PASO ROBLES, Calif. — Spring is the perfect time to plan a weekend getaway or to escape from the winter blues. Travel Expert Stacie Jacob joins our Laura Cavanaugh to share some vacation inspiration for a California destination that offers something for everyone.

If you’re looking to plan a vacation or a weekend getaway, Paso Robles is California wine country with beach access and Michelin stars.  It’s where world-class food, wine and art meet small-town charm.

The winter rains have transformed Paso’s hillsides into a magical spring escape. Visitors can experience the superbloom.

Paso Robles also offers beautiful vistas, beach access and culinary delights.  The charming town offers plenty of adventure – from horseback riding, golf and ziplining to hiking, biking and sidecar wine tours.

More than a half million visitors from around the world have traveled to California’s Central Coast to experience Sensorio, a dreamscape of light by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro.

The experience features 100,000 stemmed glass spheres lit by fiber optics, which illuminate the sky and change color.  Sensorio invites visitors to walk through the breathtaking, interactive field of light installation powered by solar. Visitors are also captivated by the adjacent Light Towers. The towers, which gently change colors, stand seven feet tall and are made from more than 17,000 wine bottles.

“It’s where light meets technology meets nature,” said Jacob.

Paso Robles is also a foodie’s paradise, boasting five Michelin-star restaurants.

While Paso Robles is located between Los Angeles and San Francisco, San Diegans can easily hop on a direct flight to San Luis Obispo and drive 30 minutes north to explore the “Pasobilities.” Within an hour, you could be in Paso Robles wine country.

More than 40 wine grape varieties are grown in Paso Wine Country. Visitors can savor sweeping landscapes, schedule a hilltop tasting, take a jeep tour through the vineyards and sip on fine wines at 20 different tasting rooms.

Paso is alive with endless activities.      Plan your next trip. Visit www.travelpaso.com
