McDonald's celebrates 40 years of its Happy Meals

The limited Surprise Happy Meal will be available starting November 7 through November 11 at participating San Diego County locations.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — McDonald's is celebrating the 40th anniversary of their first-ever Happy Meal by introducing a limited edition Surprise Happy Meal that will feature 17 throwback toys from the pat four decades. 

The limited Surprise Happy Meal will be available starting November 7 through November 11 at participating San Diego County locations. 

The fast-food giant said the "Happy Meal is all about creating feel good moments for families."

The 17 toys that will come in the Surprise Happy Meal include:

Fireman McNugget (McDonald's): 1988
Mail Carrier McNugget (McDonald's): 1988
Hamburger Changeable (McDonald's): 1989
Grimace (McDonald's): 1990
Dino Happy Meal Box Changeable (McDonald's): 1991
McDonald's Hot Wheels Thunderbird (Mattel): 1993
Hamburglar (McDonald's): 1995

101 Dalmatians (Disney): 1997
