San Diego County residents began reporting the mystery shake and loud boom at around 4 p.m. on Monday.

SAN DIEGO — Did you feel it? A loud boom and shake was reported by San Diegans across the county on Monday.

Reports of the shaking and loud boom began at around 4 p.m. on Monday.

Naval Base Coronado confirmed to CBS 8 that they were not responsible for the loud boom and shake that was reported.

In a statement to CBS 8, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton said they couldn’t confirm the noise or boom reported on Monday.

However, the base did note that Camp Pendleton conducts, “routine live-fire training with high explosive munitions that may be heard throughout any time of the day.”

“The sound of the explosions may be amplified due to environmental factors and heard up to 50 miles away,” Camp Pendleton said.

No earthquakes in the region were reported by the USGS.
