SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — Red Lobster, the seafood-themed restaurant that captured hearts around the nation with its "all you can eat shrimp" promotion, will shutter another San Diego County location.

The store announced 23 more Red Lobster closures across the United States in the coming days, including the closure of its La Mesa restaurant located at 8703 Murray Drive.
The new closures were disclosed in a court filing on Aug. 22 in the United States Bankruptcy Court Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division.
The company said it would reject the leases on the listed locations and "vacate the premises" by Aug. 31.
In May, CBS 8 reported on the closure of Red Lobster’s restaurant located in Mira Mesa. Patrons of the beloved restaurants showed up to find the Red Lobster location board up and closed.
The fate of other Red Lobster restaurants in San Diego County are unknown.
According to court records, Red Lobster currently operates more than 500 restaurants, primarily in the U.S. and Canada, and employs nearly 36,000 people. In recent months, the seafood restaurant has shed more than 100 restaurants.
The latest closures come amid a proposed sale to Fortress Investment Group, which owns chains like Logan's Roadhouse and J. Alexander's
A court filing in July revealed the company intends to accept an offer from Fortress as it received no other bids, Nation's Restaurant News reported.
