SAN DIEGO — From the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park to Liberty Station, San Diegans gathered together on Saturday to celebrate Australia Day and to raise awareness for the bushfires that are ravaging the country.
The San Diego Zoo and Safari Park will be celebrating Australia Day all weekend long. All donations made at the zoo and the Safari Park during the weekend will go to the Emergency Wildlife Relief Fund.
Other residents in Liberty Station celebrated the day by having a potluck. They sported Aussie apparel and even chowed down on some vegemite.
